Job summary

Miriam Skydell and Associates, LLC is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide contracted services in Newark, NJ. The role is paid hourly as a 1099 contractor and runs from September 2026 through June 2027, with the option of 3 full days or 5 ½ days per week.

You will support 15 students with a range of disabilities, including many non-speaking and non-ambulatory students. Evaluations and IEP meetings are part of the duties alongside direct therapy.

Qualifications

• Resume is required.
• NJDOE Certificate is mandatory.
• Active OT state license required.
• Professional liability insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students.
• Conduct evaluations and participate in IEP meetings.
• Deliver direct therapy for students aged 5–21.
• Support services for 15 students with multiple disabilities.

Miriam Skydell and Associates, LLC is a pediatric therapy agency that provides contracted Occupational therapists, Speech therapists and Physical therapists to various schools in New Jersey. Miriam Skydell has been contracting therapist to schools for over 25 years. Miriam Skydell and Associates, LLC is a small personalized agency which values our therapists time. All our contracts are by the hour regardless of student presence, all positions are paid hourly as 1099.

We currently have an OT position available in Newark, NJ

• From September 2026 through June 2027
• 3 full days or 5 ½ days (The school is flexible)
• Details: Services is needed for 15 students with multiple disabilities, ½ of the students are non-speaking and non-ambulatory. Evaluations and IEP meetings will be required in addition to direct therapy services
• Ages: 5-21
• Rate: $85 /hour
