Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric OT services in patients’ homes or daytime facilities. The role involves evaluating child motor and sensory needs, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and delivering education and training for staff and caregivers.

Clinical practicum hours and Texas licensure are required. Experience in home health is preferred, and bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Current Texas state license.
• Experience in pediatrics required.
• Clinical/Practicum hours completed.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders.
• Define patients degree and type of physical, fine motor, and sensory impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific occupational therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total occupational therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
