Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Licensed Occupational Therapist to perform specialized testing and evaluations, develop intervention plans, and deliver therapy across homes, clinics, preschools, and agencies. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to document progress and adapt strategies for pediatric populations.

The role involves communicating with families about strengths and challenges, providing neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapies, and ensuring compliance with IFSP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
• One year of experience in occupational therapy.
• Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of applicable state with current licensure.
• CPR Certification every two years.
• Valid applicable state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
• Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
• Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
• Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
• Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
• Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
• Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
