Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Nutrition Technician (Part-Time) to join our hospital team. The role supports the preparation, distribution and inventory of patient formula and breast milk under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian.

The position requires a high school diploma, related medical field training, and 1–3 years of experience, with BLS certification on hire and adherence to HIPAA and safety rules. Monday through Sunday shifts include holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of weights, measures and medical terminology.
• Maintains sterile technique during formula and breast milk preparation.
• Follows guidelines for human milk and formula preparation.
• Reads, writes and performs math to calculate formulas.
• Prepares and delivers infant formulas and breast milk as ordered.
• Maintains sanitation and stocks in the formula room.
• Under supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

• Reads weights and measurements and uses medical terminology accurately.
• Maintains sterile technique during formula and breast milk preparation.
• Follows Academy Guidelines for formula and human milk preparation.
• Calculates formulas and breast milk volumes; reads and interprets recipes.
• Prepares and delivers all infant formulas and breast milk as ordered.
• Manages inventory and stocks for the infant feeding room.
• Keeps the formula room clean and sanitary; adheres to safety rules.
• Interacts with dietitians, nurses and family members; maintains HIPAA compliance.
• Supports Patient and Family Centered Care and Nemours standards.
