Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Tallahassee is seeking a Registered Nurse Specialist to design, implement, and validate training curricula for medical foster parents caring for children with complex medical needs. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing supervisors, and social workers to align training with program goals and ensure compliance with DOH, Medicaid, and AHCA standards.

A Florida RN license and driver's license are required; a Bachelor's degree and pediatric

Qualifications

Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
Preference given to a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Two years of pediatric experience.
Two years of Teaching/Training Experience.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: design, update, and implement specialized training curricula.
Content Procurement: develop materials, videos, and simulations for pediatric care.
Competency Validation: assess foster parents and staff on procedures.
Program Maintenance: keep materials compliant with Florida DOH, Medicaid, AHCA.
Instruction & Training: lead in-person, virtual, and hands-on sessions.
Needs Assessment: identify educational gaps from QA data and feedback.
Collaboration: work with Medical Director, nursing supervisors, and social workers.
