Samuel Merritt University’s College of Nursing in Oakland, CA seeks a regular full-time faculty member to teach, mentor, and assess students across clinical and didactic settings. The role includes service and scholarship, within a diverse and inclusive academic community.

The position requires a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred), CA RN licensure eligibility, and at least three years of public/ community health nursing experience. Salary range $81,000–$108,000, comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
• California Public Health Certificate or eligible for certification in CA.
• Three years of public/ community health nursing experience in CA.
• Teaching experience with diverse students at the baccalaureate or higher level preferred.
• Rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Unencumbered CA RN license or eligible for licensure in CA.

Responsibilities

• Create learner-centered teaching environments using diverse methods.
• Coach and mentor students; develop learning plans to meet course objectives.
• Maintain competence in taught subjects and ensure curriculum integrity.
• Prepare and review examinations, papers, and student projects.
• Supervise clinical rotations and document student progress.
• Engage in service to the profession and community.
