Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our new Urgent Care team serving children from 0 through 20 years in Glenn Mills, PA and North Wilmington, DE. This role emphasizes independent and collaborative care during weekend days and weekday nights.

The APP will provide direct and indirect pediatric care in Urgent Care, working with physicians and families to deliver timely, high-quality care. Strong pediatric urgent care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active PA & DE RN licensure required.
• Active Pennsylvania and Delaware APRN licensure and prescriptive authority.
• DEA registration for controlled substances.
• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and other providers to deliver high-quality pediatric care.
• Assess patients and document history and physical exam data.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans accordingly.
• Prescribe medications if credentialed and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Document care and educate families based on learning needs.

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our new Urgent Care team in Glenn Mills, PA and North Wilmington, DE! This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly expanding Urgent Care Practices in 2026!

The Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in an Urgent Care setting. This APP will function independently and collaboratively to provide medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years. This position will require the provider to work weekend days and weekday nights.

Key Responsibilities

• Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.


• Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission and documents history and physical exam data.


• Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.


• May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so. Collaborates interprofessionally as needed. Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.


• Documents patient care and progress on patient's chart.


• Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.

Qualifications

• PNP: Active Pennsylvania and Delaware Registered Nurse Licensure, Active unrestricted Pennsylvania and Delaware Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center


• PA-C: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and Delaware; National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA


• American Heart Association BLS upon hire


• 3-5 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ED or Urgent Care setting strongly preferred.
