Job summary

Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents. You will diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions with emphasis on critical care and oncology, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include education for families, care plan development, and involvement in clinical research and nursing education to advance pediatric practice in the organization.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted NP license in Missouri.
• PNP certification from an accredited certifying body.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric nursing, including exposure to critical care or oncology settings.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations of pediatric patients across various care settings.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including critical care and oncology cases, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient and family education on disease processes, treatment plans, medication administration, and preventive health strategies.
• Participate in clinical research projects to improve pediatric care outcomes and contribute to nursing education programs to mentor staff and students.
