Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking an APRN to provide autonomous pediatric care in a collaborative setting with physicians. The role involves assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions for children and families.

Required education includes a Master’s degree and RN license with APRN-CNP certifications. The APRN will document care, coordinate with care teams, and participate in quality improvement and education activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information for new and established patients including medical history and assessments.
  • Assesses patient and family needs across physical, psychosocial, educational and cultural dimensions.
  • Interprets health data and directs patient care.
  • Provides ongoing and follow-up care including pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments and education.
  • Documents health data, plan of care, and outcomes according to policy.
  • Completes billing forms and codes based on laws and policy.
  • Communicates with referring physicians and hospital staff as appropriate.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities and related strategies.
  • Disseminates relevant research findings through practice and education.
  • Engages in professional organizations to maintain expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary: Springdale Ortho Injury Clinic - ortho experience strongly preferred Additional Information: An APRN utilizes a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems of pediatric patients and their families. Provides care for patients with unstable chronic, complex acute and critical condition. Possesses an advanced knowledge level, skill, and competence in the provision of care to specific patient and family populations and serves across the AC care continuum as a clinical resource. The APRN practices autonomously in a collaborative practice setting with a physician.

  • 1. Gathers information for both new and established patients such as medical history, diagnostic tests, comprehensive physical examination, behavioral, development and psychosocial assessments.
  • 2. Assesses and identifies patient/family physical, psychosocial, educational, and cultural needs for assigned patient population.
  • 3. Accurately interprets health assessment data and applies findings in directing patient care.
  • 4. Provides ongoing and follow-up care including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments and patient/family education.
  • 5. Documents all health data including plan of care and care according to policy, patient/family outcomes, and reassessments and plan modifications.
  • 6. Accurately completes all billing forms, including diagnostic (ICD-9) and treatment (CPT) codes, based on federal and state laws and AC policy.
  • 7. Communicates with referring physicians, health providers, and hospital staff as appropriate.
  • 8. Actively participates in quality improvement activities and the development strategies to improve patient care delivery and cost effectiveness.
  • 9. Disseminates relevant research findings through practice, publication, education, and/or consultation.
  • 10. Participates in AC, local and national professional nursing organizations as appropriate to maintain and share expertise.
  • 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
