Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Springdale seeks a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for our Primary Care Clinic. This PRN, seasonal role gathers patient histories, performs examinations, and delivers comprehensive care to children, with emphasis on family education and care coordination.

You will assess needs across medical and psychosocial domains, provide follow-up care, and document outcomes while collaborating with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• RN license Arkansas or Compact State required.
• Nursing - 6 years of experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information for new and established patients including medical history, tests, and physical exams.
• Assesses patient/family needs across physical, psychosocial, educational, and cultural dimensions.
• Interprets health assessment data to direct patient care.
• Provides ongoing care with pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments and patient education.
• Documents health data, plan of care, and outcomes according to policy.
• Completes billing forms (ICD-9, CPT) per laws and AC policy.
• Communicates with referring physicians and hospital staff as appropriate.
• Participates in quality improvement and care delivery strategies.
• Disseminates research findings through practice and education.

Description

1. Gathers information for both new and established patients such as medical history, diagnostic tests, comprehensive physical examination, behavioral, development and psychosocial assessments.

2. Assesses and identifies patient/family physical, psychosocial, educational, and cultural needs for assigned patient population.

3. Accurately interprets health assessment data and applies findings in directing patient care.

4. Provides ongoing and follow-up care including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments and patient/family education.

5. Documents all health data including plan of care and care according to policy, patient/family outcomes, and reassessments and plan modifications.

6. Accurately completes all billing forms, including diagnostic (ICD-9) and treatment (CPT) codes, based on federal and state laws and AC policy.

7. Communicates with referring physicians, health providers, and hospital staff as appropriate.

8. Actively participates in quality improvement activities and the development strategies to improve patient care delivery and cost effectiveness.

9. Disseminates relevant research findings through practice, publication, education, and/or consultation.

10. Participates in AC, local and national professional nursing organizations as appropriate to maintain and share expertise.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
