Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Pine Bluff seeks a Pediatrician to join the outpatient clinic team, delivering health assessments and direct pediatric care within the provider group. Responsibilities

  • Treat children who have minor illnesses and developmental concerns.
  • Record and maintain patient information and medical history.
  • Prescribe or order treatment, vaccines, and other care for pediatric patients.
  • Examine patients and interpret diagnostic tests to determine diagnoses.
  • Explain procedures and discuss results with patients and guardians.
  • Monitor patient progress and refer to specialists as needed.
  • Support growth and development through care programs for children and adolescents.
  • Prepare official health documents and records.

Description 1.

  • Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.
  • Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
  • Advise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. Advise communities or institutions regarding health or safety issues. Advise medical personnel regarding healthcare issues.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
  • Plan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.
  • Prepare official health documents or records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
