The Baton Rouge Primary Care Collaborative Inc is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. You will provide advanced pediatric care, perform exams, and develop care plans while coordinating with a multidisciplinary staff.

Responsibilities include ordering tests, interpreting results, administering medications, and monitoring patient responses; you will also assist in procedures and support transitions between care settings for high-need pediatric patients.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited nursing and NP programs.
Minimum 2 years of pediatric clinical experience.
Current pediatrics NP certification.
APRNLicensure and hospital privileges eligibility.
BLS/ACLS; PALS as required by department.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Perform age-appropriate history and physicals for complex pediatric patients.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests for age-specific needs.
Implement interventions to stabilize patients and support physiologic stability.
Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and patient response to treatments.
Facilitate patient transitions within and between health care settings; coordinate referrals.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and provide education to staff, patients, and families.

General Summary of Duties

We are looking to add a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to our growing team of medical professionals. Your Primary responsibility will be to provide advance care to patients in our facility. Duties will include but are not limited to performing physical exams, recording patient medical histories, creating patient care plans, and administering diagnostic tests. You will also be administering medicines and treatments, as well as observing the patient’s response to such treatments.

Typical Working Conditions

Full-time. Multiple site urban, inner-city medical office practice. Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
Orders and interprets diagnostic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
