Job summary

Bethany Children’s Health Center’s Nurse Extern Program offers a 9-week paid, hands-on experience for nursing students entering their senior year. Trainees work under an experienced RN in pediatric rehabilitation, exploring roles from Case Managers to Nursing Leadership and presenting on nursing challenges.

You will be trained as a Nurse Technician and may continue employment after externship completion, with a planned cohort presentation and a fixed May–July schedule.

Qualifications

• Between junior and senior year or graduating from nursing program in December 2027 or May 2028.
• Letter of recommendation signed by a faculty member from your program.
• Current academic transcript.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care under supervision of an experienced RN.
• Train as a Nurse Technician and contribute to the nursing team.
• Plan and deliver a cohort presentation on a diagnosis or nursing challenge.
• Work full-time from May 24, 2026 to July 31, 2026 with a Fourth of July week off.
