Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is seeking a Nurse Extern II to join the patient care team in Detroit. You will assist with ADLs, vitals, and ambulation under the guidance of an experienced RN, helping ensure high-quality care for pediatric patients.

The Nurse Extern II works night shifts as part of the patient care services team, reporting deviations to the RN and adapting to unit-specific needs. This role supports ongoing clinical education and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be 6 months away from nursing graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must pass all senior courses to remain in the program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and vitals.
• Provide patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Support ambulation and other duties within the scope of patient care tech or equivalent.
