Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging using advanced imaging technology and radiopharmaceuticals. You will work with radiologists and other clinicians to provide safe, patient-centered care for pediatric patients, with responsibilities including on-call coverage and travel to McAllen, TX.

The position requires graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program; NMTCB/ARRT-NM

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• One year of experience as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
• Pediatric imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures using specialized equipment, including gamma cameras and SPECT imaging systems.
• Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established protocols and radiation safety guidelines.
• Review physician orders, patient medical histories, and clinical information to determine appropriate imaging procedures.
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care to pediatric patients while helping children and families feel comfortable throughout the imaging process.
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Process, analyze, and evaluate diagnostic images to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate diagnosis.
• Follow established radiation safety protocols, including the safe handling, storage, administration, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Perform routine equipment quality control, calibration, and safety checks to ensure accurate and reliable imaging results.
• Maintain accurate documentation of imaging procedures, radiopharmaceutical administration, patient care, and equipment performance.
• Assist with departmental quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance and instruction to students participating in nuclear medicine training.
• Travel to McAllen, TX, to provide nuclear medicine services to patients in the Rio Grande Valley.
• Participate in required on-call coverage.
