Job summary

KidMed seeks compassionate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our pediatric urgent care team serving children across Richmond, Mechanicsville, Midlothian, and Short Pump. We offer full-time and part-time roles with autonomy and strong clinical support in a provider-led, family-focused environment.

Base pay starts at $65/hour with raises to $72/hour based on experience, plus shift differentials, a productivity-based bonus program, and a comprehensive benefits package including

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved NP/PA program.
• Valid Virginia NP/PA license.
• Valid DEA license (if applicable).
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Experience in pediatrics.
• Emergency/Urgent Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric urgent care with autonomy and clinical support.
• Perform procedures such as laceration repairs, I&D of abscesses, fracture reductions, foreign body removal, and nail issues.
• Treat fevers with age-appropriate workups for patients from birth to 25 years.
• Collaborate with a provider-led team and coordinate referrals to pediatric specialists when needed.

About the Role

At KidMed, you'll be able to make a difference every day, every patient:

• Equipment and trained support staff to accommodate patients with acute needs from birth through age 25
• Opportunity to perform procedures: laceration repairs/multilayer closures, I&D of abscesses, reduction of finger/toe fractures, foreign body removal, ingrown toenails, etc.
• Ability to treat fevers from the source with work-up down to 29 days old
• Anaphylaxis treatment and respiratory distress
• Cardiac issues, chest pain, abdominal pain, vomiting, bloody stools
• Genitourinary, Neurologic, Ortho, and Derm
• In-house clinic for: suction, DME, IV fluids, and blood draws, injectable meds, and lab work
• Support for our providers and their patients with direct admits, navigation of specialist referrals for same/next day follow up, and close ties with local pediatric specialists

Required Education and Experience

• Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
• Valid license to practice as a NP/PA in the state of Virginia
• Valid DEA License (if applicable)
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Experience in pediatrics
• Emergency/Urgent Care experience (preferred)

About Our Benefits

• Base pay starts at $65/hour and increases up to $72/hour based on relevant experience.
• Productivity-based bonus program that begins at 2.8 patients per hour, with additional earnings for exceeding this threshold. This per-shift incentive bonus program gives you the opportunity to increase your pay every time you clock in. Most shifts meet bonus levels, with annual incentives adding to approximately 10-20% more to your base compensation.
• Earn $5 shift differential for working weekends
• Additional shift differentials offered for holiday coverage
• Flexible Scheduling - KidMed offers a variety of shifts to support both your personal life and professional goals:
  • Monday to Thursday - 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Friday - 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday - 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
