Job summary

OU Health is seeking an RN Resident for the Pediatric Medical Specialty Unit (Spring Cohort) to work nights. The RN I works under general supervision providing high-quality care to patients and upholding OU Health's core values.

Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring IV infusions, documenting patient responses, and collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (must have RN license).
• Current RN license (OK State Board or eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• 0–3 years of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Align nursing practice with OU Health values and professional standards.
• Assume responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Document patient responses and changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene as needed.
• Administer medications and initiate IV infusions and blood products.
• Deliver safe and competent patient care and resolve complaints.
• Inform patients and families about procedures, care plans, and discharge steps.
• Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel and support staff.
