USA Health is expanding its pediatric neurosurgery program within the region’s only academic health system, offering an opportunity to shape a comprehensive pediatric service and multidisciplinary care for infants, children, and adolescents.

The ideal candidate is Board Certified/Eligible in Neurological Surgery, with a pediatric fellowship, and a track record in education, research, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurological Surgery Residency.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric neurosurgical care for infants, children and adolescents.
  • Treat a broad spectrum of pediatric neurosurgical conditions (tumors, hydrocephalus, Chiari, craniosynostosis, spinal disorders, epilepsy, trauma, vascular issues).
  • Participate in shared pediatric neurosurgery call coverage.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide family-centered care.
  • Participate in clinical, translational or outcomes-based research and education.
