Position Summary
Pediatric Neuropathologist – Full‑time clinical attending, based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Join a rapidly expanding division of 18 faculty members within Phoenix Children’s, a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare system. The role supports a clinical pathology service with over 200 neurological cases and nearly 500 neuropathology specimens annually, and offers close collaboration with leading pediatric neurosciences and neuro‑oncology programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in pediatric neuropathology, including interpretation of CNS tumors, neuromuscular pathology, epilepsy resections, and complex neuropathologic disorders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical teams, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, oncologists, and physician‑scientists.
- Engage in teaching, mentorship, and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
- Contribute to research initiatives, translational and clinical projects, biobanking, and molecular neuropathology programs.
- Support programmatic growth of the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, including leadership opportunities.
- Adhere to patient safety, quality of care, and evidence‑based medicine standards.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree, board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology.
- Completion of fellowship training in Neuropathology required; additional pediatric neuropathology expertise preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Arizona.
- Strong diagnostic skills and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary clinical teams, trainees, and researchers.
