Baylor College of Medicine (www.bcm.edu) is a top-tier academic health science center renowned for education, research, healthcare, and community service. The Department of Pediatrics' Division of Neurology is seeking a full-time Advanced Practitioner Provider at CHRISTUS Children's, offering a faculty appointment, competitive salary, and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
• Maintain accurate medical records, including orders and progress notes.
• Provide follow-up care according to established protocols.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members on patient care management.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner Candidate:

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license in Texas.
• Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physician Assistant Candidate:

• Current PA license with the Texas Medical Board.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

For both roles, experience with pediatric patients with chronic illnesses, knowledge of long-term medication management, and current BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are required.
