Job description

The Mount Sinai Department of Neurology is seeking Inpatient Neurologists and Pediatric Neurologists in New York, NY.

The Mount Sinai Health System has openings for Full-time Pediatric Neurologist to join our nationally ranked Division of Pediatric Neurology. Applicants are sought at any rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) with an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that is commensurate with experience and resume. The chosen candidate must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in outpatient and inpatient pediatric neurology.

Inpatient Neurology:
This part-time/per diem position involves inpatient general neurology work within the New York City based Mount Sinai Health System, where you will provide high quality care for patients with a broad range of complex neurological diseases and neurological manifestations of systemic illness. Acute stroke and neurovascular diseases are not included in this role, as these are separately managed by our world-class Stroke Team. You will frequently collaborate with our superb neurosurgical and neurological subspecialists (particularly in epilepsy and stroke). There is an opportunity to participate in cutting-edge teleneurology coverage for interested candidates. Finally, given the Department’s close connection with the Icahn School of Medicine and multiple residency and fellowship training programs, teaching opportunities may be available for qualified and interested candidates, although this is not a requirement. Opportunities include weekday, weeknight, and/or weekend coverage. Over time, coverage needs may change or be flexible.
Our recently formed, system-wide Mount Sinai Neurohospitalist Division is a rapidly growing and dynamic space, where creativity, collaboration, and motivation are highly valued. The division is establishing practice standards, metrics, and protocols for inpatient neurology care quality across the system, collaborating with Neuro Critical Care, Stroke, Epilepsy and other services, as appropriate, and harnessing information technology to elevate the quality and safety of care. Mount Sinai’s Department of Neurology is strongly committed to caring for the whole patient and places special emphasis on providing patient-centered care, embracing the mission of the Icahn School of Medicine by pursuing an integrative approach to patient care, research, and education. Candidates must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in inpatient general neurology consultation.

Responsibilities
