Bachelor's in Science is required; a Medication Safety Certification within 1 year and 2–4 years of pediatric hospital experience in safety and program development are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field required.
  • Medication Safety Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • 2-4 years of pediatric hospital experience in medication safety.
  • 2-4 years of clinical pediatric program development in a pediatric hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and maintenance of safe, standardized medication systems.
  • Prioritize and manage medication system improvement projects.
  • Develop staff orientation and training on medication safety.
  • Provide ongoing medication safety education for staff and clinicians.
  • Facilitate education programs to improve safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Chair Medication Safety and present reports to leadership and committees.
  • Partner to conduct analyses and action plans to improve patient safety.
  • Oversee reports for Antidotes and Adverse Drug Reactions.
