Job summary

Miami Children's Hospital in Florida seeks a Medication Safety Manager (Full Time, Days) to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of safe, standardized medication systems. Collaborate with the Patient Safety Officer, Director of Pharmacy and Quality on system issues and program development.

Bachelor's in Science is required; a Medication Safety Certification within 1 year and 2–4 years of pediatric hospital experience in safety and program development are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field required.
• Medication Safety Certification within 1 year of hire.
• 2-4 years of pediatric hospital experience in medication safety.
• 2-4 years of clinical pediatric program development in a pediatric hospital.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and maintenance of safe, standardized medication systems.
• Prioritize and manage medication system improvement projects.
• Develop staff orientation and training on medication safety.
• Provide ongoing medication safety education for staff and clinicians.
• Facilitate education programs to improve safety and regulatory compliance.
• Chair Medication Safety and present reports to leadership and committees.
• Partner to conduct analyses and action plans to improve patient safety.
• Oversee reports for Antidotes and Adverse Drug Reactions.
