Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks a Medical Technologist for the Send-Out Lab. This role performs blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, virology, and genetics procedures per SOPs, reports results, and maintains equipment.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, MT(ASCP) eligibility, and at least 1 year of accredited lab experience; strong math, communication skills, and LIS familiarity are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent related field.
• 1 year of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory preferred.
• Strong math ability and solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine technical procedures following standard operating procedures.
• Record and report results accurately; operate and maintain equipment.
• Monitor quality control and keep up-to-date with procedure updates.
• Serve as a technical resource for laboratory staff and associates.
• Troubleshoot basic instrument issues and manage supplies.
