Job summary

New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Senior Medical Social Worker to coordinate pediatric care through the Children's Medical Services program across six NE counties. The role requires licensure as LMSW or LCSW and significant supervisory experience.

You will manage billing coordination, care planning for children with chronic conditions, and collaboration with CMS, Medicaid, and external partners to improve access to services for families in New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Master's level social worker with a current license as LMSW or LCSW.
• Minimum five years as a licensed social worker in health, social services or related settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide licensed medical social work services/care coordination to a caseload of children and youth with chronic medical conditions and support to their families.
• Provide social work supervision to two MSW staff covering 6-county area.
• Lead outreach to medical practices, hospitals and community agencies to build caseload in NE NM.
• Oversee CMS users' training on the program's integrated database.
• Troubleshoot provider billing errors and assist CMS staff and providers with patient care issues.
• Liaise between CMS, Medicaid, and the database contractor; generate reports to support patient care.
• Manage enrollment of eligible clients onto the high risk medical pool.
