Job summary

Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center in Ahoskie, NC seeks a Pediatric Medical Assistant (ACC) to join our on-site care teams. The CMA will greet and room patients, assist in assessing health conditions, and perform routine testing during appointments.

Must maintain positive relationships with staff and patients. This non-exempt, full-time role requires flexibility, energy, attention to detail, and problem-solving to support high-quality primary care in an FQHC setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in Medical Assistant role
• Excellent organizational, leadership, verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines
• High school diploma/GED required
• Medical Assistant credential, certification or registration required
• BLS certification required
• Knowledge of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and 340B program
• Proficient with computer systems and applications

Responsibilities

• Electronic health record proficiency
• Administration of medication by injection
• Phlebotomy competency
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
• Prepares patient for examination by performing preliminary physician tests and reporting history
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude
• Maintain clean and orderly clinical areas and prepare exam rooms
• Educate patients and families on care procedures and diet
