Job summary

Playground Pediatrics in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to support providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will manage patient flow, collect clinical information, and assist with examinations, while supporting patient education and timely communication.

You will uphold HIPAA, prepare exam rooms, perform routine nursing duties, update EHRs, and help with vaccines programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience as Medical Assistant or LPN.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a professional manner.
• Escort patients from waiting room to exam room.
• Obtain patient history, vitals, meds and allergies; assist with examinations.
• Complete forms, prior authorizations and paperwork to facilitate patient care.
• Update patient charts in EHR during visits with accurate medical details.
• Review charts for completeness after visit or calls.
• Provide patient education and care plan instructions.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies; sanitize and stock appropriately.
• Understand the Vaccines for Children Program.
• Perform nursing duties and quality checks, monitor refrigerator temps and lab tasks.
• Return messages and follow up on patient requests via phone or portal.
