The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Medical Assistant II to assist the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager at Stead Family Children’s Hospital (SFCH).

This 40-hour, day-shift position is located on campus in Iowa City and offers a merit-based pay plan and comprehensive benefits. No weekends or holidays are required, with regular on-campus work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program.
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.

Formation

Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program, or Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.
