Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric care across multiple locations in southeast Wisconsin. You will assist with exams, immunizations, vital signs, and patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a welcoming environment.

From pre-visit planning to clinic flow management, you will collaborate with nurses and providers to ensure safe, efficient care. A high school diploma or GED is required; MA program preferred or 6 months patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED/HSED required.
• Graduate of medical assistant program preferred; in lieu of this education, 6 months patient care experience would be considered.
• Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or pediatric setting preferred.
• Experience with immunizations and injections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all CW procedures and HIPAA; provides exceptional patient care.
• Performs Pre-Visit Planning to improve visit efficiency and identify care gaps.
• Maintains clean, organized exam rooms and school safety requirements.
• Greets patients and families, directs them to exam rooms, and maintains clinic flow.
• Assists with collection of vitals, measurements, health screenings, allergies, and medications; reports observations.
• Assists provider in exam processes and immunizations; assists with procedures including capillary and peripheral blood draws.
• Communicates with providers, leaders, and staff to maintain clinic operations; alerts team of urgent needs.
• Monitors supplies and ensures equipment availability for patient care.
• Prepares for clinic with paperwork, authorizations, and other administrative tasks.
