Job summary

Canyon View Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Pediatrics clinic in Spanish Fork, UT. The role requires availability for Friday evenings and Saturday daytime shifts. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are welcome to apply.

The MA will assist the Health Care Provider, perform patient care, and help maintain patient records and quality standards. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and triaging patient communications.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program or CNA certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience or externship.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Experience with EHRs, preferably NextGen.
• Strong customer service and phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician.
• Assist physician in exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
• Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician.
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
• All other duties as assigned by the physician, MA Supervisor, or practice administrator.
