Job summary

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional family-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents as delegated by a provider or RN. Duties include escorting patients, preparing medications, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and maintaining privacy and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or LPN/LVN/RN program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR completion of an LPN/LVN or RN program required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam room and document information.
• Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by a clinician.
• Perform and assist with procedures and tests such as hearing/vision tests, rapid strep, nebulizer treatments and urine catheterizations.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
