Job summary

Brattleboro Retreat in Vermont seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team. You will participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include administering medications per policy, monitoring for side effects, educating patients about medications, and maintaining safety and quality of care on the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Current Vermont license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• At least one year of clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications correctly within Brattleboro Retreat policies and procedures.
• Provides nursing care to meet patients’ needs under the supervision of an RN.
• Observes for medication side effects and documents.
• Contributes to patient education on benefits/risks of medications with the RN.
• Maintains patient safety and the therapeutic environment on the unit.
• Communicates clearly in SBAR format with the multidisciplinary team.
