Job summary

Ohio Valley Voices Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that teaches children who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and talk.

The Listening and Spoken Language Provider will instruct children aged 16 months through 2nd grade in language, speech, and auditory development, both individually and in small groups. The position accepts part-time and full-time candidates, with emphasis on collaboration, health and safety procedures, and maintaining thorough student records.

Qualifications

  • Master's in Speech Pathology required.
  • CFs considered for licensure/supervision eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements all subjects in accordance with the approved curriculum.
  • Plans a program that meets the needs of the child and provide experiences to challenge each child.
  • Supervises students in the classroom, in the building, and on the playground at all times.
  • Cooperates with other staff members in sharing equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Maintain the order and appearance of rooms, cabinets, equipment, and shared spaces.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and individual teacher meetings.
  • Participates in after school activities.
  • Follows all health and safety procedures.
  • Completes daily lesson plans in advance of each lesson and maintain a lesson plan binder.
  • Communicates regularly with parents about objectives and classroom activities.
  • Participates in progress conferences at least twice each school year.
  • Keeps accurate records on all students, including the TASL, TASP, TAAS, progress reports, and individual portfolios.
  • Collects spontaneous language samples of students and record student progress based on samples.
  • Observes, records, and reports significant individual and group behavior and performance.
  • Demonstrates excellent relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in their work responsibilities.
