The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life or a related field, with experience working in pediatric settings. Qualifications

• One year of experience working with hospitalized children as a Certified Child Life Specialist is preferred.
• Completed an internship under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
• Obtain a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess emotional and medical needs of patients and families; formulate a plan of interaction.
• Provide play/recreational activities consistent with developmental needs.
• Utilize methods to prepare children for diagnostic, treatment, and surgical procedures.
• Participate in family-centered care activities with clinical staff.
