Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health seeks Pediatric Intensivists to join the team in Pensacola, Florida, delivering comprehensive care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, therapists, pharmacists and nutritionists.

You will provide life‑saving care, perform invasive procedures when needed, and collaborate to develop individualized care plans while ensuring family‑centered

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board eligible/certified in area of specialty.
• Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU, including diagnosis, treatment and management of life-threatening conditions.
• Perform invasive procedures such as central line placement, intubation, chest tube insertion, and other critical care interventions.
• Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in family-centered care, offering clear communication and emotional support to patients and families.
• Comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety practices.

Successful candidates will provide comprehensive care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary team environment that includes pediatric physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists and nutritionists.
