Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago invites a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our inpatient team on a part-time PRN basis.

You will evaluate pediatric patients, develop age-appropriate goals, and collaborate with families and a wide care team to implement evidence-based therapy plans. Responsibilities include ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans, staff education, and participation in rounds, with a focus on family-centered care and pediatric best practices.

Qualifications

• Successful graduation from an accredited Speech-Language program.
• Current License or proof of eligibility and submission for license in the State of Illinois.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association within first 90-days of start.
• Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association by having completed the BLS AED Heartsaver Course.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates each assigned patient in terms of current or potential problems pertaining to speech-language pathology.
• Establishes age-specific plan of care and functional goals based on evaluation results and involves family in planning.
• Re-evaluates effectiveness of ongoing treatment plan and makes necessary changes.
• Educates patient, family, and caregiver about needs and care plans.
• Collaborates with families, physicians, and other rehab staff; participates in rounds and team meetings.
