Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an experienced Inpatient Registered Nurse for the Pediatric PACU at Geisinger Medical Center. The role involves completing assessments, coordinating care, and delivering direct patient care in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (PA) with current PA RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care with education and discharge planning.
• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostics.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiates collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team to resolve patient needs.
• Problem solves and maintains equipment handling.
• Participates in unit-based decision-making and quality/safety initiatives.
