Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• MSN NP degree required.
• Active NY RN and/or NP license.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced care, including administering intravenous medications, fluids and nutrients to children to treat chronic illnesses, infections, or for wellness purposes like dehydration and fatigue.
• Assess and educate patients and families, monitor patients before, during and after therapy.
• Oversee pediatric infusions, including ordering lab tests and adjusting treatment plans.
• Work independently and with physician supervision to create treatment plans, start infusions, monitor for reactions, and educate families.
• Perform patient assessments, manage medications, order diagnostics, and assist with procedures like endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Coordinate outpatient procedures and prior authorizations for infusions.
• Coordinate patient care for infusions and therapy.
• Document all care in the medical record and ensure documentation is submitted.
• Develop and manage patient care panel within managed care programs and other direct patient care programs.
• Participate in departmental education activities for medical students, residents, fellows and allied health students.
• Participate in hospital and departmental health fairs and community education events.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

Master of Science Degree in Nurse Practitioner

New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner Licensure

Current BLS Certification
