Job description

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in coastal Charleston, SC, seeks an exceptional pediatric infectious diseases physician to join a small but dedicated group of physicians looking forward to growing and developing the division over the next few years. The Division of Infectious Diseases resides within a highly collaborative and academically diverse Department of Pediatrics and also enjoys a close working relationship with the Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine.


Ideal Candidates:

  • BC or BE pediatric infectious disease physician
  • Strong clinical skills and commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based medicine in teaching and practice
  • Candidates with expertise/interest in hospital infection prevention and hospital epidemiology are encouraged
  • Candidates seeking a combined position in pediatric and adult infectious disease will be considered

Opportunity Details:

  • Dedicated Children’s ambulatory campus and hospital, with multi-disciplinary pediatric subspecialties, surgery centers, laboratories, pharmacies, infusion suites and radiology
  • Expansion of ID division with coverage of inpatient and outpatient clinical services

In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion is the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas, and one of only 15 like it in the country.
