Job summary

Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Pediatric ICU to provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a Florida RN license, have strong assessment skills, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Pediatric PCC experience and PALS are preferred; on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Florida RN licensure required.
• Pediatric Critical Care experience preferred.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care based on comprehensive assessment of physical, psychosocial, developmental, educational, and spiritual patient needs.
• Develop, implement, document, and communicate goal-directed plans of care.
• Monitor patient status and promptly identify, elevate, and respond to changes requiring clinical intervention.
• Maintain a safe patient care environment and comply with infection control and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to coordinate care and support clinical decision-making.
• Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and organizational initiatives.
• Serve as charge nurse or preceptor when assigned, supporting unit operations and staff development.
• Maintain required competencies, continuing education, and mandatory training.
