Job summary

TCH Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Team. The role focuses on age-appropriate, family-centered care across multiple units in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Preferred candidates bring pediatric experience and at least 9 months of professional nursing experience, with a Texas RN license or compact license and BLS. Shift options include days, full- and part-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN/ASN/technical diploma) with acceptance or enrollment in BSN program or BSN-equivalency signed agreement.
• 9 months professional nursing experience (required).
• RN License by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact.
• CPR – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental and environmental needs.
• Analyzes situations, anticipates potential problems, and detects changes in patient status.
• Re-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient’s condition; communicates this information to the health care team.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical record.
