Job description

BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist - St. Louis Metro Area

Job Highlights:

The physician shall provide pediatric services at designated hospital(s) or other Program Sites as directed by the Program Director. The physician must comply with all applicable hospital bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the hospital and Program Sites where services are performed.

Hospital Clinical Duties:

• Manage admission, treatment, and discharge of pediatric patients in collaboration with attending physicians; no long-term inpatient care.
• Evaluate patients and perform procedures as deemed appropriate by the Glennon Care Pediatrics Medical Director.
• Respond to Emergency Department requests for patient evaluation and treatment.
• Attend high-risk deliveries in the labor and delivery room.
• Participate in normal deliveries when requested, unless patient acuity elsewhere or emergencies take precedence.
• Be available during scheduled shifts to care for neonates in the nursery and consult with neonatologists as needed.
• Respond to pediatric consult requests from other departments.
• Collaborate with advanced practice nurses (APNs) and team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
