Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens coverage in Eureka, California. Start ASAP with a 24-hour call schedule (6:00am–6:00am). The provider will manage a census of 1–7 per shift and perform pediatric procedures as needed.

Requirements include an active California medical license, DEA license, board certification in Pediatrics, PALS, and NRP. Credentialing is expected within 30–60 days. EPIC is the EMR used.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active California medical license.
• Must hold a valid DEA license.
• Board certification in Pediatrics is required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Credentialing typically takes 30–60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric hospitalist coverage on a 24/7 call schedule (6:00am–6:00am).
• Manage census of 1–7 patients per provider per shift.
• Perform pediatric procedures as specified; newborn central lines are limited to neonatal periods.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record for documentation and orders.

This facility is seeking aPediatric Hospitalist Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details & requirements for this opportunity:

• Schedule: Call only; 6:00am-6:00am;
• Total census per provider per shift: 1-7
• Procedures required: Do not do central line placement outside the newborn period (Umbilical Venous Catheter and Umbilical Arterial Catheter are technically central lines but only for neonates), chest tubes, intubations for pediatric patients would most likely occur in the Emergency Department. Emergency Department doctors and anesthesia would typically have significantly more experience here.

• Support: To be determined
• Certifications and license requirements: Active California license, Drug Enforcement Administration license, board certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program
• Credentialing timeframe: 30 -60 days
