Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, IA is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist to join a well-established practice. The role includes teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students, with a 1.0 FTE commitment and shifts that combine in-person care and on-call coverage.

You will join a tight-knit team and provide care for well-baby nursery and pediatric medical-surgical patients in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BC/BE pediatric hospitalist candidate.
• Experience in inpatient pediatrics and teaching responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a team with residents and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric coverage (well-baby nursery, pediatric medical-surgical unit) at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
• Teach Residents and Medical Students.
• Manage a volume of 2–10 patients per day; shifts include in-person and on-call.
• Collaborate with a four-physician team to maintain coverage and patient care.
• Participate in patient family communication and care planning.
