Department Overview
The Children's Minnesota Department of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) is committed to advancing the health of infants, children, and adolescents through high-value, evidence-based, family-centered care within the hospital and across health systems to promote the health and equity of all children. We partner with the University of Minnesota Pediatrics, Medicine/Pediatrics Residency, and multiple regional Family Medicine Residency Programs to offer broad-based training in pediatrics in the inpatient setting. Integrated with our educational activities, these programs provide hands-on learning to equip graduates with the skills they'll need as future advocates of children's health.
The Department of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is a dynamic, stimulating place to work and because we are focused on clinical excellence and improving care, our staff have particularly challenging and rewarding roles.
At this time, the Department of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a full-time physician hospitalist to work at our Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. The Department of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is one of the largest departments at Children's Minnesota. We are not only looking to positively impact children’s health in the Twin Cities, but also regionally and nationally. We have 100+ physicians managing sick children at our two campuses. When we are not active with patient care, our Hospitalists hold many leadership roles throughout various hospital committees to help ensure we are providing safe and excellent clinical and patient-centered care.
Your responsibilities will include:diverse clinical experiences ranging from covering patients in the Acute Care units, Infant Care Center, and Nursery, and are the primary team on a wide breadth of specialty patients including but not limited to endocrinology, eating disorders, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, infectious disease, cardiology, general surgery, urology, ENT, and psychiatry.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
-Experience and comfort with the care of hospitalized pediatric patients
-Good teamwork and communication skills
-Interest in personal faculty development in various areas such as quality improvement, evidence-based care, and medical education along with opportunities to be engaged both local and nationally.
-Experience with quality improvement work and/or projects (preferred but not required)
Education:
*Doctor of medicine or osteopathy
*Medical Licensure in the State of Minnesota
*BC/BE Pediatrics. BC/BE in Pediatric Hospital Medicine desired, but not required
*Ability to be successfully credentialed by both Hospital and 3rd Party Payers.
Required Experience:
*Good communication skills, flexibility and the desire to learn are a must
