Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a licensed practical nurse to perform skilled nursing functions for pediatric clients in home settings in Lansing and surrounding areas. You will operate under the direction of a medical practitioner and follow established care plans and orders.

The role requires a current LPN license, CPR certification, and the ability to document changes accurately in medical records. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care for

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
