Job summary

MedCare Pediatric is seeking a Pediatric Private Duty Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in patients' homes. This role supports 8–12 hour shifts with flexible day/night schedules across the Greater Houston area, serving children with varied medical needs while collaborating with families and the care team.

Current Texas RN license and CPR certification are required; a valid driver's license and auto insurance are needed.

• Pediatric home health experience preferred, but not required. New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting for 8–12 hour shifts.
• Assess client conditions during each visit, monitor vital signs and care for devices (G‑tubes, tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilators).
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plan.
• Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs, seizure activity, and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care
• Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
