Job summary

Penn State Health-Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist Nocturnist to deliver high-quality overnight inpatient care for children with cancer or hematologic conditions. The role includes leading evening rounds, admissions, and urgent evaluations, while supporting resident and fellow education during overnight hours.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent eligible to practice in Pennsylvania
• Pediatric Hematology-Oncology training or substantial experience
• Interest in research encouraged but not required
• Able to obtain PA medical license

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality overnight inpatient care to pediatric oncology/hematology patients during nocturnist shift
• Lead evening rounds with nursing staff to ensure clear communication and coordination of care
• Manage admissions and urgent evaluations as on-site physician
• Support resident and fellow education through bedside teaching and case discussions during overnight hours
