Job summary

Penn State Health’s Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist Nocturnist to provide high-quality overnight inpatient care for children with cancer or hematologic conditions. The nocturnist serves as on-site physician for clinical management, admissions, and urgent evaluations, leading evening rounds with the nursing team.

Candidates MD/DO or foreign equivalent, licensed in PA or eligible, with training or experience in pediatric hematology-oncology.

Qualifications

• Training or adequate experience in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology interested in a nocturnist position.
• MD, DO, or foreign equivalent.
• Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania BC/BE.
• An interest in research would be supported but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality overnight inpatient care to children with cancer or hematologic conditions.
• Lead evening rounds with the nursing team for clear communication and care coordination.
• Participate in resident and fellow education through bedside teaching and case discussions.
• Support clinical decision-making during overnight hours in a collaborative, family-centered environment.
