Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA is seeking a registered nurse to provide individualized pediatric nursing care within a defined scope of practice and under established policies. The role includes high-acuity psychosocial and clinical care for a designated patient population.

The nurse will collaborate with the health care team, participate in education for patients and staff, and report to departmental management. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates/Diploma in Nursing required with experience; BSN preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Infusion clinic: 1 year Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.
• CPR training required or within 45 days of hire.
• PALS training required within 45 days for infusion or 6 months inpatient.
• APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status preferred or within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care within a defined scope of practice.
• Supports a defined population program or service.
• Reports to departmental management.
• Develops and demonstrates high acuity psychosocial and clinical care for the patient population.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with the healthcare team.
