Texas ESC Region 16 Amarillo, Cleveland Street Campus is seeking a Health Services Assistant to support and facilitate health services within the Head Start program. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current first aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric health preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, be service oriented, a team player, aware of individual differences, and possess organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtains copies of enrolled children's medical and dental records.
• Performs vision, hearing, lead, and hemoglobin screenings and refers as needed.
• Maintains health logs, reports, and care plans for Head Start children.
• Visits classrooms and home settings for assessments and records.
• Notifies parents of screening results and ensures medical homes are established.
• Collaborates with health staff to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintains confidentiality and supports safety policies.
